Laddie you'll no catch a fish casting like that, you'll need to keep your wrist straight. Aye thats better, back, forward, back, forward, now we'll put the fly you lost in the wind bushes (ten minutes ago) back on again. What kind of a knot dey ye call that! Quick laddie there a rise right in front of ye, cast in the rings. Well done ye've hooked him, gie 'im line noo or you'll lose 'im. Ach he's off. Never mind laddie better luck next time, by the way whit fly was that ye had on?

That was eight years ago and I've been hooked since but I'm still indebted to the old angler who showed me how. Every angler should have a gillie or a local to show them the best spots but as this is not always possible, the more information you have on the place you are going to fish the better. The aim of this website is to do that. I hope it will help you to catch more fish, but most of all I hope it will help you enjoy your fishing in the wonderful landscape of Kintyre.

Tight Lines.
